European integration fund call for proposals 2009

25 September 2009

We are pleased to announce that the call for tender for the European Integration Fund 2009 Annual Progamme is now open.

The European Integration Fund is aimed at newly-arrived migrants (that is migrants who have arrived within the last five years) who are not asylum seekers, refugees, European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) nationals (otherwise known as third country nationals) and who have not come to the United Kingdom in a short-term visa category such as students.

There are four categories for proposals
Provision of English for Speakers of other Languages (ESOL) (PDF 38K opens in a new window)
Civic orientation, development of a volunteering program (PDF 38K opens in a new window),
Policy development in the area of building intercultural competence (PDF 38K opens in a new window), and a
Research project (PDF 42K opens in a new window)

The amounts and periods of funding vary depending on which call for proposals that is being applied for. The total amount of funding available is £8.65 million. All successful bids will also have to demonstrate that matched funding - usually half - is secured before funding will be released.

This is a matched funding fund whereby the recipient will need to find matched funding for half the amount; this may be reduced to a quarter in very specific circumstances.

Any organisation intending to submit an expression of interest must initially be registered as a supplier with the Home Office eSourcing Portal at https://sourcing.homeoffice.gov.uk

Once registered, organisations must send an email to eEnablers@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk entitled 'EIF 2009' to include organisational and contact details. Organisations will then receive details of how to access and complete the online Request for Information (RFI).

Any expressions of interest not submitted in the required form may be rejected. If you have any difficulties using the eSourcing service please email eEnablers@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

The closing date for applications under this fund is Friday 13 November 2009 at 1600.

It is intended to conduct a pre-application workshop for prospective bidders to attend. This will be held in Central London on 15 October 2009 and limited spaces will be available on a first come, first served basis. Further information on this will be provided via the Home Office eSourcing portal.

Further information on the calls for proposals can be obtained from our adverisements in the Guardian Newspaper on Saturday 26 September 2009 and Wednesday 30 September 2009.
